Honey Harvest Festival 2021

Whew! That was a great weekend! A huge THANK YOU to all who participated.

A giant shout out to our Beekeeping Apprentices, who volunteered their time to help with the uncapping, spinning, and bottling of honey. These folks have worked with us and the bees throughout the year and have learned so much. We could not host this festival without their help.

We had an absolutely fabulous group of vendors and clubs this year. It truly felt like family, as many of them have been part of the festival for years.

Our class presenters brought along so much knowledge that they were willing to share with the community. If you attended a class, you could feel how passionate all of these folks are.

Now…on to the Honey Taste Contest! Due to safety concerns, we didn’t feel like it was a great idea to have a public tasting experience this year, but we did have all of the contest entries on display. The tasting was done by a lucky panel of honey aficionados, and it was a nearly impossible task to select a winner. Each and every entry was delicious, seriously not a bad one in the bunch. So, to everyone that entered, AMAZING JOB!

We did select the following honeys as the winners:

Scott & Chevy Taylor - Best Dark Honey

Eric Cislo - Best Light Honey

Though the general public only had the opportunity to vote on appearance, a clear favorite was chosen and the award went to:

Brian Biggie & Don Biggie - People’s Choice

We can’t wait to see what next year brings, but for now we are enjoying the transition into our slow season. Again a huge THANK YOU to everyone that helped make this year’s Honey Harvest Festival such a success.
