UPDATE: The bees will be later than we anticipated, so this date has changed! Saturday, May 13th is the newly scheduled date for this event.

It’s finally time to come in and meet your bees! Depending on which package you selected, you’ll have access to your Community Apiary space and all of the stuff that comes with it. If you have chosen the Queen Bee package, your bees will already be in their new home. It’s pretty exciting!

We’ll be on hand, along with some of our mentors for the season, to present you with a Hive Inspection demonstration. We’ll talk about what we look for when we do our inspections, tips and tricks we’ve learned over the years, and good apiary etiquette. We’ll be inspecting a hive together, and then you will be free to open up your own hive and meet your bees.

Please be sure to bring your own safety gear for this event, as well as every other time you come to the apiary. Tools and gloves are provided, but a veil, jacket or suit are your responsibility and must be worn in the vicinity of the hives.
